SZA introduced Wheatus’ 2000 basic “Teenage Dirtbag” into 2019 with a tremendous cowl.
The songstress unveiled her rendition of the tune whereas acting at Australia’s Splendour within the Grass competition over the weekend. The group erupts into cheers upon listening to the acquainted lyrics, and scream-sing the enduring refrain with SZA.
“The boyfriend character was based on a nameless conglomeration of the many douchebag bullies who wanted to show you their father’s gun,” Wheatus singer Brendan B. Brown instructed The Guardian in May of the fan favourite.. “And I sang both the male and female parts because, when I was getting beat up, a lot of bullies were homophobic. I wanted to irritate them by putting on a female voice.”
