Jim Weatherson, who’s vacating the function, will stay on the label through the transition after which act as advisor and synergy agent.
Clay Hunnicutt is becoming a member of the Huge Machine Label Group staff as GM of the Huge Machine Data imprint, the corporate introduced Monday (Aug. 12).
“I have worked with Clay Hunnicutt throughout my career on the radio side and record side,” BMLG president and CEO Scott Borchetta mentioned in a press release. “He is a consummate professional with a tireless work ethic and boundless creativity. He is the perfect complement to our executive team and I’m sure he will turn great results.”
Hunnicutt will oversee releases by the label’s artists, together with Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Midland, Carly Pearce, The Cadillac Three, Noah Schnacky, Payton Smith, Lauren Jenkins and Dan Smalley. He succeeds Jim Weatherson, who will stay at Huge Machine through the transition after which “act as consultant and synergy agent,” in line with a press launch.
“Scott Borchetta and I have talked about working together for years and it’s exciting that we were finally able to put it together, especially during such a dynamic time for Big Machine,” Hunnicutt added. “There’s an amazing team already in place and I can’t wait to jump in and see where we can take the Big Machine artists together.”
The information comes after Hunnicutt’s departure as president and accomplice at Nashville-based impartial label Huge Loud in July. Beforehand, he spent 27 years in radio together with stints at Clear Channel and iHeartMedia.
