Adam Sandler might be one of many world’s coolest dads.

Throughout an look on Jimmy Kimmel Stay! Thursday (May 29) to advertise his upcoming Netflix film Homicide Thriller, Sandler shared the story of how he snagged Maroon 5 for his daughter’s bat mitzvah.

So how’d he do it? Sandler mentioned he texted Adam Levine to see if he’d be keen to play the occasion, which passed off final weekend.

“I don’t know why I did it,” the 52-year-old actor recalled. “Then you see the dot dot dot. Immediately, I’m like, ‘Oh, he got it. He’s about to say something.'”

Levine fortunately agreed to carry out, and introduced alongside Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine to play alongside him.

“They played three great songs,” Sandler advised Kimmel. “It was the coolest thing, man.”
